Project Lifesaver International is working with Ring of Hope Campaign on a new development addressing the issue of dating violence and abuse among the 16-24 year old female age groups. This is an ongoing issue in high school and college communities where these females are at the highest risk and are frequently reported missing. 1 in 3 teens experience some form of dating abuse and 1 in 5 teens are physically or sexually abused by their partner. We are hoping the new development will help to lower the instances of dating violence and abuse cases and protecting with the mission of making these communities a safer place.
How is dating violence defined? It’s a pattern of actual or threatened acts of physical, sexual, emotional, digital, and/or verbal abuse committed by a person against a current or former dating partner. This abuse may take the forms of sexual harassment, social sabotage, insults, threats and/or acts of physical or sexual abuse.
